Ava Max’s Sweetness
The “Sweet but Psycho” Singer is a Pop Rising Star

Pop rising star Ava Max has broken onto charts all over the world and into the mainstream with her single “Sweet but Psycho.” The fun and fresh dance pop tune has brought the Wisconsin-born singer-songwriter her first taste of fame is a textbook example of the power of one good hit.
Ava Max, whose given name is Amanda Ava Koci, moved to Los Angeles at age 17 to pursue a career in music. Rejections from producers and failures to secure a record deal eventually gave way to success, and her SoundCloud productions evolved into studio-crafted pop songs.
“Sweet but Psycho,” released in January 2019, was followed by a feature on a David Guetta track, and another electronic single “So Am I.” Ava Max has cited Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and other female pop superstars as inspiration. She’s been criticized widely for copying Lady Gaga’s fashion, video technique and more, as some have noticed similarities between the two.
Ava Max’s debut studio album has yet to be released or announced, but based on previous releases and artists she’s cited as inspiration, we can bet it will be a collection of techno-inspired and danceable songs with strong lyrics.
