Blondie is Back
Their new single is serious fun

“Fun” is the first track from Pollinator, Blondie’s forthcoming album, their 11th, due out on May 5th. The video is classic Blondie—plus some intergalactic space travel, a few mind-altering psychedelic moments and a nightclub finale inspired by the band’s origins in the 70s New York City music scene. And of course, there’s Debbie Harry, looking as glam and gorgeous as ever.
Director Dikayl Rimmasch (the genius behind Beyoncé’s Lemonade film) called Debbie Harry “beautifully enigmatic” after working with the band. “It was amazing to be on the other side of the glass from her when those ‘Debbie moments’ happened,” he said. “It felt like I had stepped into a parallel dimension.”
Blondie’s upcoming album, Pollinator, features collaborations with Sia, Blood Orange frontman Dev Hynes, Charli XCX, TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, Nick Valensi of the Strokes and Smiths icon Johnny Marr, among others. Blondie will co-headlining on a tour with Garbage this summer. You can watch the video for “Fun,” above.
