For those looking for soulful Americana music to fuel this fall, look no further than Brandi Carlile’s newest album, In These Silent Days. Set to be released October 1st, the album arrives via Low Country Sound/Elektra Records. A follow up to Carlile’s last album, By the Way, I Forgive You, this new project sees her reunited with longtime collaborators Tim and Phil Hanselroth, as well as with producers Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings.

In These Silent Days will be Brandi Carlile’s seventh studio album. It comes highly anticipated after Carlile’s last album, By the Way, I Forgive You, noticeably broke the Americana/Country barrier at the 2018 Grammy Awards, receiving nominations for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. The album also debuted at #5 on Billboard’s All Genre Billboard 200 list, making it her highest ranking album to date.

The first new single off In These Silent Days, titled “Right on Time”, premiered July 21st, along with a dramatic music video directed by Courteney Cox. The visuals are a relatively new territory for Carlile, drawing influence from androgynous glam rock of the 1970s, with Bowie-esque silver sequined costuming and expansive backdrops involving fire, water, and city streets. The music, however, is classic Carlile: powerful roots songwriting, with bold, twangy vocals and soaring instrumentals. Even longtime fans of hers may be wowed by the range she displays, both on the lead single and throughout the album. “I will say that the vocals are, like, over the top,” Carlile reveals about the project, “and I’m a pretty over-the-top singer, so that’s really saying something.”

“Mama Werewolf”
“When You’re Young”
“Stay Gentle”

Brandi Carlile has already proven herself to be one of this generation’s most powerful vocalists and songwriters, a crossover artist who brings acoustic Americana sensibilities into genre-defying music that has won her both fans and friendships with cultural icons like Joni Mitchell, Barack Obama, and more.
