Bondage + Black Lingerie
Charli XCX + Christine and the Queens' collab

Charli XCX is a pop artist dedicated to pushing the boundaries of her genre in the best ways. Expressive and unconventional, she’s released a number of powerful singles recently, building up to the release of her third studio album Charli on Sept. 13.
Her latest release and video features French artist Christine and the Queens. “Gone” has angry lyrics and a strong beat, but Charli and Christine’s voices are oh-so-sweet together. Lyrically, the two seem to understand one another and their frustrations, and they share it in their song. Late in the song, Christine also sings small bits in French –– a nice touch added without seeming cliche.
The “Gone” music video is poignant and sexy without being over-the-top. Both women are dressed in black lingerie accessorized with leather and tulle for an alluring sweet and sassy look. They begin the video tied to a car with rope, and when they’re freed, they dance closely, showing off their vocal and physical chemistry on screen. It’s a simple yet effective visual representation of the song made impactful by the two’s knack for performance and clever camera work.
