Director Hannah Lux Davis
The Music Video Mogul With Your Dream Job

You might not know Hannah Lux Davis by name, but you’ve definitely seen her work. The Los Angeles Film School grad is only 33 years old, but the long list of music videos she’s directed and high-profile stars she’s worked with are too impressive for words.
Davis began directing music videos in 2008, working with some lesser-known electronic and rock artists before her visionary style was discovered by bigger labels and stars. Her videos are stunning, overwhelming productions, with a clear and beautiful focus on style.
Davis’ has a talent for making videos that perfectly suit and compliment the larger-than-life artists she collaborates with. Her first award-winning production came in 2013 with Lil Wayne’s “Love Me” featuring Drake and Future, which won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Video
Davis’ more recent works have been with primarily female artists. She’s got an affinity for sexy, empowering visuals perfectly made for the strong women performing in them. She’s worked with Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Little Mix, Halsey and Kacey Musgraves in recent years to make videos featuring everything from a 70s disco setting to a flag twirling routine in an apocalyptic cityscape.
Davis’ most phenomenal work, and perhaps one of the most anticipated music videos ever, was made for Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next.” The video was hyped up for weeks by Grande and others who made cameos in the production, a mishmash of iconic scenes and styles from everyone’s favorite chick flicks, from Legally Blonde to Bring It On. Davis also stuck with Grande to direct her videos for “7 Rings” and “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.”
The “7 Rings” and “thank u, next” videos are both up for VMAs this year and are clear frontrunners in their categories. We’re certain Davis has many years of award-winning creations ahead of her.
