Dixie Chicks Do Beyoncé

When Beyoncé released Lemonade in April, the Miranda Lambert-esque lyrics in the song “Daddy’s Lessons”—”He held me in his arms / And he taught me to be strong / He told me when he’s gone / Here’s what you do / When trouble comes to town / And men like me come around / Oh, my daddy said shoot / Oh, my daddy said shoot”—had people referring to it as the singer’s first country single. So it was only a matter of time before a full-fledged country band like the Dixie Chicks gave the tune even more of a down-home twist.
