The music industry is always full of surprises. Spontaneous releases, secret albums and unexpected collaborations are what make life fun, right? But some artists are more keen on being being transparent and letting the hype build around their upcoming releases.

We’re still sweating through summer, but fall is only a few months away, and a number of exciting artists have dates set for new music releases during the autumn coolness. Here are some of the planned fall releases we’re looking forward to the most.

Charli XCX

We can’t stop thinking about the British star’s upcoming album Charli. Ever since her extraordinary collabs with Lizzo and Christine and the Queens dropped, we’ve been dreaming of the other pop delights to come.

Charli is set to release Sept. 13.

Brittany Howard

The Alabama Shakes frontwoman recently announced she’d be going on a solo venture rather than sticking with the band and recording a follow-up to their Grammy-winning album Sound and Color. Howard released the first solo from her upcoming album Jaime in late June. It beautifully displays her breathtaking vocals and whispers of good things to come.

Jaime is set to release Sept. 20.

M83

Less of a band, more of a project, the electronic artistry of M83 has been ever-evolving since 2001. The mastermind behind everyone’s favorite indie track “Midnight City” will release its next studio album DSVII nearly three and a half years after the last M83 album.

DSVII is set to release Sept. 20.

Tegan and Sara

Everyone’s favorite indie rocker girl duo is back in action after three years. The identical twins announced earlier this month that their ninth studio album Hey, I’m Just Like You is on the way. The first single from the album, “I’ll Be Back Someday” the perfect balance of pop, punk and alt-rock and is the perfect love letter to the many artists they’ve cited as influences from Green Day to Brittany Spears.

Hey, I’m Just Like You is set to release Sept. 27.

The Lumineers

The soft and sweet folk rockers are expert storytellers. Their last album Cleopatra is a testament to love, loss and strong women, and it seems the group’s upcoming record III will flow from a similar vein of songwriting. The singles and visuals released thus far are stunning, and there’s no doubt the rest of the album will be, too.

III is set to release Sept. 13.
