Fergie brings sexy back
The singer struts her M.I.L.F. $tuff

Eleven years ago, Fergie released her debut solo album, The Dutchess. Since then, the Black Eyed Peas starlet has had a follow-up record in the works, but it just hasn’t been ready… Until now.
Finally, a whopping three years after the album’s first single, “L.A. Love (La La)” came out, the CD Double Dutchess has landed, and it’s a grand piece of pop goodness which showcases Fergie‘s strengths as a singer whose power lies in her off-the-charts levels of sincerity and silliness.
The album’s second single, “M.I.L.F. $“, came out over a year ago, but it’s just as jovial today, a sexually-charged call to arms; just because she’s in her 40s and dedicating her attention towards being a mom doesn’t mean she’s not still a total sex bomb, a fact which is proven in abundance via its outrageously sexy music video. In the lead-up to the album’s release on September 22, more singles have dropped, including “Hungry,” featuring Rick Ross, and the effortlessly catchy “You Already Know,” which features Nicki Minaj on a verse, though Fergie herself shows off some serious skill, spitting out rhymes with palpable confidence and legitimate punk rock attitude. The video for the tune is shot in classic black and white, and is decidedly more restrained than the more provocative “M.I.L.F. $” clip… Well, at least until Fergie starts twerking!
In an effort to thank her fans for being patient during the decade-long wait for the new record, every single track from the disc will have a music video attached, making for a fully visual album. The standout visual epic of the set is “A Little Work,” a deeply personal and heartfelt tune which fearlessly explores Fergie‘s struggles with drug addiction and the damage it did to her immediate mental state. The stunning short film is directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who previously helmed videos for bands like Roxette, The Struts, and the queen herself, Madonna.
Double Dutchess is out now on Dutchess Music, an imprint of BMG.
