Foster The People’s World

"Sit Next To Me" and Have a Good Time

From Foster The People’s third studio album Sacred Hearts Club, the single “Sit Next to Me” hits new heights in modern indie pop music and shows that the Los Angeles-based band still has fun on the dance floor after almost 10 years in the music industry.

While the single’s official music video features the band from their millions of fans’ Instagram feeds, the “around the world” music video feels a bit more fun and energetic, as it features Foster The People on tour across Europe and Asia, before it finds them back in sunny southern California.

We see the band just enjoying their time together on stage and after shows, as they experience the nightlife of many different countries. Moreover, we see the band from their fans’ point-of-view (again), but this time during their live shows instead of on Instagram.

The song itself just embraces fun nightlife and youthful spirits that make Foster The People’s music the best choice for a good time. It’s catchy and bouncy hooks delivers an infectious earworm that will keep you grooving in your office seat or daily commute. It’s just the go with the flow type of attitude that’s loads of fun!

“Come over here and sit next to me
We can see where things go naturally
Just say the word and I’ll part the sea
Just come over here and sit next to me
And I’ll take you high.”

If I had to choose between the official music video and the “around the world” one, I’d go with the latter. It’s more fun and suits the song better than the Instagram one. When I think of Foster The People, I think of a good time on the dance floor and sharing fun moments with friends, and not isolated and scrolling through an Instagram feed.

Sacred Hearts Club is available now on Spotify and Apple Music. Foster The People are doing the festival circuit this summer starting in Fresno, California on May 18th. Afterwards, they’re supporting Paramore during their summer tour from June 12th through July 24th. For more info, check out the band’s website.
