Finneas O’Connell, better known mononymously as FINNEAS, has been one of the hottest music producers since his sister and constant collaborator Billie Eilish took the world by storm. But Finneas is also a man of many talents.

In addition to producing for Eilish, he’s been collaborating with other rising stars and recording his music. He’s already a multi-Grammy Award winner, and he’s headed for bigger things.

Here’s what FINNEAS has been up to lately:

 

DROPPING HOT NEW SINGLES

FINNEAS dropped his first solo EP, Blood Harmony, in late 2019 and released the deluxe version last year. It seems like his debut full-length album may be on the way in 2021. So far, FINNEAS has released two tracks of his own this year. “What They’ll Say About Us” is a slow and moving song about working toward change, while “American Cliché” is a jazzy number with a slightly ironic tone.

 

SCORING HIS FIRST FILM

In February 2021, it was announced that FINNEAS would be scoring a new film called The Fallout. The high school drama was written and directed by Megan Park of The Secret Life of the American Teenager fame. It will star Shailene Woodley, Maddie Zeigler, and Niles Fitch of This Is Us. We don’t know much about the project yet, but we’re excited to hear FINNEAS’ scoring debut.

 

PRODUCING FOR GIRL IN RED

In March 2021, the upcoming indie rock star girl in red dropped her first single this year. It was also her first collaboration with FINNEAS, who produced the song titled “Serotonin.” Girl in red’s typical sound is a soft, guitar-heavy bedroom pop. But this new FINNEAS-produced project has a more electro-pop feel. With girl in red’s debut album on the way, we’re excited to hear if FINNEAS’ influence will be heard in other songs.

 

COLLABORATING WITH RISING POP STAR ASHE

Electro-pop artist Ashe has worked with FINNEAS before. He produced her entire debut EP, and her most famous song, “Moral of the Story,” was created in part by FINNEAS. That single put her on the map as one of the hottest upcoming pop acts. In March 2021, Ashe reunited with FINNEAS to release a duet, “Till Forever Falls Apart.” This delicate, romantic track is sweet, and the music video is even more endearing.

 

PRODUCING BILLIE EILISH’ UPCOMING ALBUM

Finally, we have to mention FINNEAS’s work on sister Billie Eilish’s upcoming sophomore record. We don’t have many details about Eilish’s second album yet. But we do not doubt that FINNEAS will again play a significant role in creating it. He’s credited as the only producer on the album’s single, “Therefore I Am.” We can only assume there’s more coming soon from the most potent sibling duo in music.
