The music video for the song is simple: it features the young lovers sharing intimate moments during an alcohol-fueled night in the Big Apple.
While each have found success as solo artists, G-Eazy & Halsey, who are also dating, are releasing the new album as a couple, to share their love with their fans through their music. “Him & I” also happens to be a very bright and toe-tapping single.
The video, which is made to resemble VHS footage from the 90s, opens with a simple sentence—“This video was made by Gerald and Ashley on a weekend in NYC with friends.” This shows the authenticity of their intimacy and the music video itself. The couple also directed the video, which gives it an extra layer of genuineness.
The song itself is an expression of their union with Halsey’s throaty vocals and G-Eazy’s hip-hop style. Their affection for each other is clear, especially with lines like, “He’s out his head, I’m out my mind/We got that love, the crazy kind/I am his, and he is mine/In the end, it’s him and I, him and I.”
