GUCCI AND HIS MANE MEN
Bruno Mars and Kodak Black Join the Singer

You can’t tell Bruno Mars he ain’t fly, especially after seeing the video for “Wake Up In The Sky.” Featuring Gucci Mane and Kodak Black, the video has garnered more than 13 million views and counting on YouTube since its upload Oct. 31.
The trio dons flashy suits, gold chains and designer sunglasses in the video. In Gucci Mane’s verse, he sits in front of a vanity mirror wearing an all-white ensemble — including a luxurious floor-length fur coat — with glamorous diamond accessories.
On the other hand, Kodak Black ditches the suit jacket and presents his bare chest and a diamond chain. Surrounded by beautiful women in mannequin-like positions, Kodak Black raps: “Like it’s basketball, I drop 50-pointer on my wrist / It’s Lil’ Kodak, take a pic / I came home to drop the heat.”
Mars sports the same outfit for the whole video: a glitzy, diamond studded suit and translucent sunglasses. Singing only the chorus, Mars’ silky voice blends perfectly with the flows of Gucci Mane and Kodak Black. Perhaps it helps that Mars has collaborated with the likes of Eminem, Travie McCoy and 2 Chainz.
The sexy trio is a force to be reckoned with, and hopefully the smooth bop isn’t the last collaboration from these three. The song and video are reminiscent of ’80s and ’90s R&B, almost like a contemporary, upbeat version of Boyz II Men. They sing with a level of sultriness that has women popping champagne with them in the end.
It helps that every record Mars touches turns to gold. The 11-time Grammy winner has secured 7 No. 1 hits out of 15 top-10 hits with only 23 songs hitting Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in less than 10 years. The versatile musician won Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the Grammys in January. Gucci Mane has been featured on one No. 1 hit, whereas Kodak Black has earned two top-10 tracks.
