HALSEY- GENIUS PUNK ARTIST
Trent Reznor, Rihanna, The Weeknd, And An Imax Film And Album

No disrespect to Taylor Swift and her proclivity to dress like a princess, but all hail Queen Halsey. A good month and a half before her fourth studio album, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ dropped, she released a video of herself preggers enough to pop stalking the galleries of the Mets like a Tigress daring you to think Whore of Babylon as she walked past icons, paintings, and statues depicting the Madonna and Holy Babe. A fierce 13 minutes later she turns her back to us and pulls a royal red drapery and there she is larger than life sitting on a golden throne. Left breast fully exposed with an infant on her hip. Halsey is not f-ing around. This portrait cum album cover she posted on Instagram defying Instagram to block it. They kept their filters off her.

With each album she brings more than a year’s worth of ballads, bops, and bangers. For this record she tapped the Oscar-winning duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Could this be a return to Halsey’s dark roots a la Room 93?
As if this wasn’t enough. Next week on August 25th in the US and the next day in the UK there will be an IMAX, one-night-only, experience. Written by Halsey herself and directed by Colin Tilley. You have heard of him. He is the auteur behind WAP and a bunch of Bieber music videos. This film is straight up Dark Ages horror. The trailer proclaims this epic is about “the lifelong social labyrinth of sexuality and birth. The greatest horror stories never told were buried with the bodies of those who died in that labyrinth. This thing looks witchy enough to give Stevie Nicks a run for her money.

Now that she’s put it all out there, maybe she will be on maternity leave? We doubt it.
Halsey is hot as ever. Bonus: She can paint too. Can’t wait to listen to the album and see the film.
