You may not know Savan Kotecha’s name, but he’s written some of your favorite pop tracks.

Kotecha is a powerhouse pop songwriter and record producer who has written countless charting hits. He’s collaborated with dozens of Grammy-winning superstars and has been nominated for a few significant accolades himself, including three Grammys, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award.

We’re counting down some of our favorite songs penned by Kotecha. Here are 10 of Savan Kotecha’s hottest tracks.

 

#10: DEMI LOVATO’S “COOL FOR THE SUMMER”

We kick off our list with Demi Lovato’s steamy track “Cool For the Summer.” This 2015 track was the lead single from Lovato’s fifth studio album Confident and a smokey hot bi-curious anthem. 

 

#9: CAMILA CABELLO’S “MY OH MY (feat. DABABY)”

Camila Cabello’s “My Oh My” was one of the hottest tracks of 2020. Cabello and DaBaby make the perfect pair to turn up the heat on a song that’s all about a bad boy that makes the girls go crazy.

 

#8: NORMANI’S “MOTIVATION”

Next up is Normani’s breakout single “Motivation.” The former Fifth Harmony member made a name for herself as a solo artist with the help of Kotecha. Together, the duo created a track that inspires us all to be our best, sexiest selves.

 

#7: ELLIE GOULDING’S “LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO”

Kotecha helped pen this sensual ballad for the soundtrack to the Fifty Shades of Gray film. Ellie Goulding sings “Love Me Like You Do” so full of romance and passion that we can’t help but fall head over heels for this song.

 

#6: JUSTIN BIEBER’S “BEAUTY AND A BEAT (feat. NICKI MINAJ)”

For number 6, we throw it back to one of Justin Bieber’s early mega-hits, courtesy of Kotecha. “Beauty and a Beat” was the hottest party track of 2012 that we couldn’t help but dance to. Add in a Nicki Minaj verse, and the song is a work of pop flawlessness.

 

#5: USHER’S “SCREAM”

The title speaks for itself with this song. Usher’s sexy single “Scream” reached number nine on the Hot 100 and is certified platinum in the U.S. Kotecha’s talent for penning fiery lyrics is to thank for it.

#4: MAROON 5’S “ONE MORE NIGHT”

This song is a Maroon 5 single that reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100. “One More Night” is all about the tension we feel when the mind and the body want different things. Kotecha’s knack for penning smoking hot pop tracks is on full display here.

 

#3: ARIANA GRANDE’S “BREAK UP WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND, I’M BORED”

Ariana Grande has been a frequent collaborator with Kotecha for years. Kotecha was credited as a writer when Grande received her Grammy nomination for Album of the Year for thank u, next. So it only fits that we put the spicy single “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” at number 3 on our list. 

 

#2: THE WEEKND’S “CAN’T FEEL MY FACE”

At number 4, we have yet another number 1 hit. The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” is a funky single from 2015 that earned two Grammy nominations. It’s smooth and sexy and one of our favorite Kotecha creations.

 

#1: JESSIE J, ARIANA GRANDE, AND NICKI MINAJ’S “BANG BANG”

Topping our list is one of the most iconic collabs in pop music history. There will never be another trio like Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. And there will never be another bad bitch anthem-like Kotecha’s creation “Bang Bang.”
