HIT MAN BENNY BLANCO
Producer to Justin Bieber, Halsey, Rihanna +

Benny Blanco is only 32 years old, but he’s one of pop music’s most prominent producers.
Blanco got his start producing hip-hop beats in his bedroom. After hustling to earn an apprenticeship under a renowned producer, Blanco co-wrote and co-produced major hits for Katy Perry, Kesha, and more. Since then, he’s lent his songwriting and production skills to several other high-profile stars.
In recent years, Blanco has made a name releasing original music under his name. He’s collaborated with Calvin Harris, Juice WRLD, and more to create fresh new hits and take credit for himself.
Most recently, you’ve probably seen Blanco’s name on Justin Bieber’s newest single, “Lonely.” But he’s got plenty of other songs under his belt. Here are nine hot hits Benny Blanco helped create:
Benny Blanco’s “Eastside (with Halsey and Khalid)”
In 2018, Blanco released his first single under his name. Halsey and Khalid dueted the vocals, and “Eastside” reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t”
“Don’t” arrived in 2014 as the second track from Ed Sheeran’s sophomore album. The groovy hip-hop song was Sheeran’s first to reach the top ten of the Hot 100.
Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself”
Bieber and Blanco collaborated before “Lonely.” In 2015, Blanco helped write and produce “Love Yourself,” the second single from Bieber’s stellar fourth studio album Purpose.
Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera)”
This Maroon 5 track earned about a dozen award nominations following its release in 2011. Thanks to Blanco’s writing and production skills, “Move Like Jagger” is one of the best selling singles of all time.
Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl”
One of Katy Perry’s breakthrough singles, “I Kissed A Girl,” made quite a splash when released in 2008. It reached the number one spot on the Hot 100, with Blanco credited as both a writer and producer.
Halsey’s “Nightmare”
Last year, Halsey dropped this fiery single to widespread acclaim. Blanco helped write and produce “Nightmare,” which received two award nominations.
Avicii’s “Lonely Together (feat. Rita Ora)”
Blanco ventured into the EDM world to help write and produce this Avicii track. “Lonely Together” is certified platinum in the United States and several other countries.
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”
“Señorita,” which Blanco helped write and produce, was undoubtedly one of the sexiest singles of 2019. Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello sang together on this spicy Latin-inspired single, which reached number one on the Hot 100 and certified multi-platinum in multiple countries.
Rihanna’s “Diamonds”
Finally, we include Blanco’s only collaboration with Rihanna. “Diamonds” was released in 2012 as a single from her seventh album, Unapologetic. It, too, topped the Hot 100.
