The incomparable Janet Jackson announced last week she’ll continue her boundary and record-breaking career with a new album.

Black Diamond will be her 12th studio album, and is set to release sometime this year. In her Instagram post announcing the upcoming record, Jackson explained the meaning behind the album’s title: “Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut. I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy. There is a lot that I have endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength.”

Jackson will also embark on an arena tour beginning in June in Miami.

Any Time, Any Place (1994)

Jackson’s 1994 single from her fifth album Janet came with one of her steamiest videos. Its slow motion undressing scenes, intimate moments and secret onlookers all make for four minutes that are almost too hot to handle.

Love Will Never Do (Without You) (1989)

The video for this sensual single from the album Rhythm Nation 1814 treats us to the sexy silhouettes of Jackson and her male co-stars. Their on-screen interactions in the glow of the sun have us dreaming of roaming the beach with our own lover.

Rock With U (2008)

One of her more recent sexy hits, this strobe-lit production epitomizes the captivating dancing we’ve come to associate with Jackson. She and her backup dancers entrance us in the otherworldly video for this single from her album Discipline.

If (1993)

Another iconic Jackson dance sequence, this one features a crew of women looking very sexy in leather clothes while they do as they please with their male counterparts. The lyrics of this single from Janet  are as sexy as the visuals.

Jackson keeps it simple and sexy with the video for one of her most iconic singles, “That’s The Way Love Goes.” She grooves to the beat and cuddles up with a few lucky guys while showing off her beauty in simplistic but flattering all-black attire.
