Jessie J exposes herself
Kinky S&M themes in “Think About That”

Revenge songs are all the rage, thanks to Kesha and Beyoncé calling out their wrong-doers on their latest songs, “Praying” and “Lemonade.” But we know whom those women are singing about, thanks to the press, social media, and history. There’s still a mystery surrounding who the giant jerk is in Jessie J’s new single, “Think About That,” but we anticipate that scoundrel’s name will be exposed soon enough. Clearly she’s referring to someone in the music industry who took advantage and made a profit off her talent. Every time she calls him out for another breach in their “friendship,” it cuts like a knife. Whomever the traitor is, in her mind, he’s bleeding a long, slow death.
The video, surprisingly, takes a sexual turn, depicting Jessie J in various BDSM costumes, tied up, wet, and helpless. Of course, anyone with experience in the S&M world knows that the roles of master and servant are often, if not always, the reverse of who’s really in charge. By vocalizing her humiliating experience with her abuser and exposing his actions, Jessie J takes control. Her superpower is her voice, as is Kesha’s and Beyoncé’s.
Jessie J will not be silenced. And we’re listening. As for her tormentor, we say, “Think About That.”
