Jhene Aiko is a stunner in every way. At 32, she established herself as a respected R&B artist after a tumultuous beginning. And, she continues to wow us with her talent for all things sexy.
Born in Los Angeles, Aiko started taking vocal lessons at a young age and her career began in 2002. She performed vocal features on rap tracks and appeared in various music videos before taking a break and self-releasing a mixtape in 2011. Aiko was already beloved in rap and hip-hop and stars sang on her record that included Miguel, Drake and Kanye West.
After three years of recording, Aiko released her debut album Souled Out in 2014. It earned three Grammy Award nominations and captured the critics and fans who weren’t already taken with her sweet soprano voice. Her surprise sophomore record Trip was released in 2017. Her sensual lyrics, steamy music videos and frequent collaborations with other R&B and hip-hop voices have kept her at the top of the charts ever since.
In March 2020, Aiko released her third album Chilombo. Aiko said it was inspired by the tranquility of the Hawaiian landscape, where she recorded it. She also assembled a stellar lineup of features from H.E.R., John Legend, Nas, Future, Ty Dolla $ign and Miguel. The deluxe version of the album was released in mid-July and featured new tracks and additional collaborations with Kehlani, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa.
