KESHA’S “RAISING HELL”
The Party Queen of the Decade is Back

Kesha was the voice behind so many of our favorite songs of the early 2000s. Her first single, “TikTok,” launched her to stardom in 2009. “Tik Tok” broke the record for weekly digital downloads after streaming started to be tracked in 2003. Other irresistibly fun and edgy party songs like “Blah Blah Blah (featuring 3OH!3)” and “Your Love Is My Drug” followed soon after, along with her debut album Animal. Kesha emerged as the boldest glitter-covered popstar of the decade.
Kesha released two more albums before legal issues with producer Dr. Luke interrupted her productivity. In 2014, Kesha and Dr Luke countersued each other. She charged him with emotional distress and more. He filed for defamation and breach of contract. The litigation prevented Kesha from recording until she came back stronger than ever in 2017. Kesha’s Rainbow is an uplifting collection that includes her raw and beautiful single “Praying”.
Though the last two years have been mostly quiet, Kesha says she’s about to drop a new album. There’s already a new single “Raising Hell” and it’s reflective of her trademark fun-loving style. It’s an unlikely mashup of gospel and house music, with quasi-religious lyrics about partying before life ends. In its rowdy music video, Kesha plays a 1980s televangelist complete with a hot pink shoulder-padded pantsuit and Dolly Parton-blonde hair.
Kesha’s newest album High Road is set for release on January 10, 2020 and will feature collaborations with a number of other artists from a range of musical genres. Kesha is collaborating with country rocker Sturgill Simpson, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons and Nate Ruess of fun.
