Lady Gaga: John Wayne

Lady Gaga is on fire lately. She pulled off a perfect Super Bowl Halftime Show, she’s the new face for Tiffany, and now she’s just announced a worldwide tour for Joanne, her latest album. “John Wayne” is her new video from the album, and it is one hundred percent everything Gaga. The song is a collaboration with Mark Ronson and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme. And the video is directed by Jonas Åkerlund, the genius behind “Paparazzi” and “Telephone.” The result is a vampy and campy acid-horror mashup that’s super fun to watch.

When Mother Monster does country, you know she’s going give it the Gaga twist. “John Wayne” careens across the screen with so many things happening—a “Thriller” reference and platform shoe pistols to name just two—you’ll definitely need to replay it multiple times.
