Lana Del Rey is back with another album, just a few months after her seventh studio album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club.

She announced Blue Bannisters in April, but when its projected release date of July 4 came and went, many fans assumed it was put aside (along with something called Rock Candy Sweet that she hasn’t mentioned again).

However, Del Rey has just announced that Blue Bannisters will be coming our way on October 22. She also shared another single from the album, “Arcadia.” This track follows three other singles released earlier this year: “Blue Bannisters,” “Wildflower Wildfire,” and “Text Book.”

“Arcadia” brings to mind her earlier work, with spare piano melodies and plaintive vocals. The lyrics see her struggling with her relationship with California, something she explored deeply on 2019’s Norman Fucking Rockwell!

“I’m not from the land of the palms // so I know I can’t stay here // I’m not native,” she sighs over the moody synths. “Arcadia // finding my way to you.”

Along with the two albums she’s made this year, she also announced her second book of poetry, “Behind the Iron Gates – Insights from the Institution,” which would be published in March of this year. However, like Rock Candy Sweet, she has not mentioned it again.

Only time will tell if Del Rey means to release the album this time. But, fingers crossed, it makes it our way in October!
