LOGIC’S LAST DROP
His Final Album ‘No Pressure' + What’s Next

After a 10-year rap career, six-albums and two Grammy nominations, Logic has called it quits.
Sir Robert Bryson Hall announced in mid-July that his then-upcoming album No Pressure would be his last. The 30-year-old rapper became the proud father of a son earlier this year and said he’s stepping away from the spotlight to focus on parenting.
Logic has been steadily releasing album after album since he signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings in 2013. He released his debut Under Pressure soon after signing on, and with it, went from a small-scale favorite to an international star. Under Pressure reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 and each of his following releases have also reached the top five.
Hall’s latest and last release peaked at number 2 on the U.S. chart, just shy of the top spot he’s hit twice before. It also charted in seven other countries, a testament to the worldwide fandom he’s attracted during the past decade.
No Pressure seemed to serve as Logic’s return to his roots. Throughout the tracklist, we see nods to his humble smalltown beginnings and the style he cultivated during his rise to fame. Hall has time and again paid respect to his contemporaries who’ve inspired him, like Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J. Cole. Their influence is evident in both the first and last albums in Logic’s discography.
So far, No Pressure has the best critical reception of any Logic album. Reviewers have praised his return to his stylistic beginnings, retrospective lyrics and the album’s overall heartfelt nature.
Hall’s retirement announcement came as a surprise to many, and we’re still unsure what to expect next from him if anything. It seems that his parting with the music world wasn’t entirely on good terms. During a livestream on Aug. 24, he said, “I was let down by the music industry a million fucking times.”
So maybe this really is goodbye to Logic as an artist. At least his gamer fans can watch his Youtube videos and Twitch streams while speculating if he will ever return to the rap game.
