Lorde brings Melodrama
The singer returns with songs of love and loss

Lorde, the New Zealand teenager with the scratchy soprano voice we all embraced four years ago when her single, “Royals” became a huge crossover- and Grammy-winning hit, is back. Finally!
Now all of 20, and with an album’s worth of bad-relationship experience to write about, Lorde, née Ella Yelich-O’Connor, presents Melodrama, a narrative CD filled with heartbreaking breakup songs co-written and produced by musician of the moment, Jack Antonoff (fun. and the Bleachers). The first single, “Green Light,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Charts and Melodrama, which dropped on Friday, is Billboard’s Album of the Week. Was it worth the wait? Oh Lorde, yes!
