Lordy, Lordy, LORDE!
Solar Power Is A Natural Earth Shaker

Lorde is finally making her comeback this year. After what feels like forever, she’s releasing her third studio album, Solar Power, on August 20.
Lorde dropped the single Solar Power earlier this summer and quickly followed it with a music video that caused excitement for the new album. The album cover was then released, and Lorde revealed it was taken by one of her friends. So, the 24-year-old decided it would be the cover because of its playful nature.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, she explained the inspiration behind Solar Power:
“The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
It sounds like a lot of Lorde’s personal life and beliefs is shown through her music, and we’re all about it. It’s been four years without her! (That’s right, Melodrama dropped in 2017!)
On June 21, she announced that she’d be touring starting February 2022, and she released the full tracklist–and in case you haven’t seen it yet, we’ve listed it here:
- ‘The Path’
- ‘Solar Power’
