Taylor Swift’s new album Lover is, thus far, her most critically acclaimed yet. It’s an 18-track showcase of her immense talent as a lyricist and her growth as a musician. Each song examines love in a different form: the feeling of being in love, self-love, familial love and friendship.

Here are seven of the best tracks from Swift’s seventh studio album:

“Lover”

The title track of the album is definitively one of Swift’s best musical creations to date. It’s lyrically stunning, perfectly capturing what it means to be in love and connect so deeply with someone, while also emulating its charm and silliness. The production is subtle, with a sweet acoustic melody that will surely make it a wedding song for the ages.

“I Forgot That You Existed”

The leadoff track of the album is a prime T-Swift diss track. The melody is infectiously catchy, and the words have the perfect touch of sass without the bitterness of some previous Swift shade-throwing. The line “In my feelings more than Drake” has us praying for a remix with the rapper featured. We can dream, right?

“Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince”

Another monumental achievement in lyric writing comes with this track. It calls back to early Taylor –– the artist who wrote about cheerleaders and band geeks –– but has a complexity to it that shows her maturity. We’re particularly obsessed with the “GO, FIGHT, WIN” riff.

“Cruel Summer”

Swift collaborated with edgy rockstar queen St. Vincent for this track, and despite their contrasting stylistic differences, their styles blend effortlessly. Swift’s vocals are strong, and so is the production in this ode to dysfunctional love.

“I Think He Knows”

Reputation gave us some of our first tastes of sexy Taylor, and this track kept the ball rolling. It’s hot and heavy lyrically, but Swift’s falsetto chorus gives it a nice 80s-modern-pop-blend feel. We’re getting major Carly Rae Jepsen vibes.

“False God”

This jazz-inspired track is a venture in style Swift hasn’t taken before, and it showcases just how far her talent ranges. A cool and sexy track, the instrumentals are unmatched, particularly the smooth saxophone crooning in the background.

“Cornelia Street”

Lover is such a sweet mix of high-energy tracks to dance to and more emotional ballads like “Cornelia Street.” It’s a melancholy love song in which Swift recounts memories and prays they never turn bad from heartbreak.
