MY MORNING JACKET ALBUM
Regularly Scheduled Programming - 11 New Tracks

With 2020’s release of The Waterfall II, fans of My Morning Jacket were able to experience the rest of the band’s 2015 recording sessions that led to the release of The Waterfall. On October 22nd, fans can experience a whole new chapter with My Morning Jacket’s latest self-titled studio album.
My Morning Jacket, set to be released via ATO Records, features 11 new tracks including the lead single “Regularly Scheduled Programming.” Recorded at Los Angeles’s 64 Sound Studio and produced and engineered by band frontman Jim James, “Regularly Scheduled Programming” is an homage to regaining consciousness after a long daze. “Screen time addiction replacing real life and love,” croons James over pulsing bass and distorted guitars. The result is hypnotic and oddly cheery. James hopes the whole album brings fans this kind of release, saying, “I hope this album brings people a lot of joy and relief, especially since we’ve all been cooped up for so long. I know that feeling you get from driving around blasting music you love, or even lying in bed and crying to the music you love. The fact that we’re able to be a part of people’s lives in that way is so magical to us, and it feels really good that we’re still around to keep doing that.”

The video accompanying “Regularly Scheduled Programming” is co-directed by Jim James and George Mays. The song in particular addresses the past year’s hardships, with James releasing a statement saying, “This song really hits home for me after what we’ve gone through with the pandemic. But even before then, it felt like so many of us were trading real life for social media, trading our own stories for the storylines on TV, trading our consciousness for drugs. We need to help each other wake up to real love before it’s too late.”
My Morning Jacket will be accompanying the new album with a 2021 tour. Catch them in a city near you, or listen to the new album starting October 22nd.
