Miley Cyrus just released her best album yet. Plastic Hearts, which dropped November 27, shows the 28-year-old singer as she was meant to be –– unapologetic and glamorous, with a sprinkle of rock and roll.

To honor her killer new release, we’re counting down the best songs she’s released across her already long and legendary career. Here are Miley’s best songs ranked.

#10. CAN’T BE TAMED (2010)

“Can’t Be Tamed” is just a little different from the Hannah Montana soundtracks we were used to hearing Cyrus sing at the time of its release. The world got its first real taste of grown-up Miley Cyrus with this track. Its bold tone and heavy bass promised a new solo career, unlike anything we’d heard before.

#9. 7 THINGS (2008)

Before “Can’t Be Tamed,” Cyrus released the unforgettable Breakout. Her first post-Disney Channel solo album was a collection of creative and vulnerable tracks that showed her skill as a musician on her way to bigger things. “7 Things” left an impression on our hearts if we experienced our first heartbreaks along with Cyrus.

#8. THESE FOUR WALLS (2008)

Also featured on Breakout was this raw and emotional song. Cyrus showed off her vocal talent and knack for putting painful feelings into words with the big, bold chorus of “These Four Walls.”

#7. WHEN I LOOK AT YOU (2010)

We know Cyrus and her longtime boo Liam Hemsworth are no more, but this love song will always be our favorite. “When I Look At You” was featured in the film The Last Song, in which Cyrus and Hemsworth starred and fell in love. It’s tender and moving and indeed one of the best romantic ballads of its time.

#6. HIGH (2020)

At number six, we finally reach our first selection from Plastic Hearts. “High” is stripped-down and introspective. Cyrus dives into her feelings about missing someone without reason and longing for closure but unable to find it.

#5. MOTHER’S DAUGHTER (2019)

Shortly before Plastic Hearts, Cyrus released the EP SHE IS COMING. On it was “Mother’s Daughter,” another testament to Cyrus’ gradual process of unapologetically becoming herself. But it’s more than a celebration of Cyrus –– it’s an uplifting ode to womanhood and all the badass qualities that come with being a girl.

#4. MALIBU (2017)

After Cyrus’ brief ventures into hip-hop and electro-pop, she returned to a more straightforward music style with “Malibu.” The song captures the easiness of loving a person who feels like home, and the softness and happiness sound like a summer romance made to last.

#3. GIMME WHAT I WANT (2020)

Our second inclusion from Plastic Hearts is this sassy and sexy track. “Gimme What I Want” is what it sounds like –– a demand for satisfaction. And it shows off all the incredible rock elements that make Plastic Hearts such a great album.

#2. WRECKING BALL (2013)

At number 2, we have one of Miley’s biggest and most memorable songs. “Wrecking Ball” is the breakup track of a generation. Need we say more?

#1. MIDNIGHT SKY (2020)

At number 1, we have the very first single from Plastic Hearts. “Midnight Sky” is a vintage-inspired rock masterpiece. It’s a clap back to the haters and gossipers and a celebration of self all in one.
