Sir Paul McCartney calls in some of today’s best talent to remake his 2020 album. Some songs are better than others. So, here with a Little Help from Your Friends (get it?), we ranked them:

1. Seize the Day (feat. Phoebe Bridgers)

Phoebe Bridgers has thumbed a ride on the Magical Mystery Tour.

2. Find My Way w/ Beck

Paul brings the pop, and Beck drops the funk. Great

3. Women and Wives (St. Vincent Remix)

St. Vincent is given space to do her guitar goddess thing.

4. Slidin’ w/ EOB

Ed O’Brien of Radiohead. Enough said.

5. When Winter Comes (Anderson.Paak Remix)

Decent song. They should have called Belle and Sebastian in for the assist.

6. The Kiss of Venus w/ Dominic Fike

Sounds like a John Mayer and present-day Weezer collab. Sadly, it would be the best thing either has done in years.

7. Long Tailed Winter Bird (Damon Albarn Remix)

This song begins with a flute version of the end of Blackbird. Then, it takes the listener to a smoke-filled speakeasy where the band has gone electric. It ends with an outro of a banjo.

8. Deep Down (Blood Orange Remix)

Harmony, man, harmony.

9. Lavatory Lil

This track lands so low on the list because it is one of Paul’s songs in The Beatles’ dirty girl songs, i.e., Maggie Mae and Polythene Pam minus the charm.

10. Pretty Boys w/Khruangbin

Danceable.

11. Deep Deep Feeling (3D RDN Remix)

This 11:23 track is 11 minutes too long. If you need a long Paul McCartney song, listen to Band on the Run or Live and Let Die.
