RICO NASTY’s NIGHTMARE
Her Wild Trap Metal Style + Debut Album OTW

Rico Nasty has always pushed the limits and defied what rap music can sound and look like. After two years of viral success, she now has a debut album on the way.
Maria-Cecilia Kelly Simone, a.k.a. Rico Nasty, put her first mixtape out when she was just a high school sophomore. After graduation, she continued to grind independently, releasing original tracks on YouTube and SoundCloud. Her first viral single, “iCarly,” amassed more than 500,000 views on YouTube in a matter of months. Her next online hit, “Hey Arnold,” was remixed by rapper Lil Yachty and helped push her into the mainstream spotlight.
In 2018, she had multiple self-released singles go viral on YouTube and TikTok. “Smack A Bitch” is still her most famous track and was named one of the best hip-hop songs of the year by Fader.
All the newfound attention helped Kelly score a record deal with Atlantic Records. After signing with the label, she released her celebrated sixth mixtape, Nasty. It was on several major year-end lists, and many tracks were labeled some of the best of the year. 2019 delivered another widely praised mixtape, along with tours and performances at Coachella and New York Fashion Week.
In short, Rico Nasty is enjoying non-stop success since she broke into the rap scene just two years ago. She’s only 23 years old and stands out more than most. Her bold blend of hip-hop, trap, and metal music is unique, and her outrageous style matches her sound perfectly.
Rico Nasty is releasing her first full-length album. After teasing it for more than a year, Kelly finally announced the official date a few weeks ago.
Titled Nightmare Vacation, the album will be “sugar trap on steroids,” according to Kelly. Only a partial tracklist is out and we know collaborators include Amine, Trippie Redd, and Gucci Mane.
Three singles from the album are out. The most recent, “OHFR?,” dropped on November 11. It’s two minutes of Kelly’s signature gritty rap with a wild music video to match.
Nightmare Vacation is expected on December 4.
