SAINT MOTEL’S BIG SHOW
Ranking Best Tracks from Their Hot New Album

California indie rockers Saint Motel are back with a brand new album that we’re currently obsessing over.
The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the band’s fifth studio album –- the latest release in a long career of genre-bending creativity. It dropped on June 25, and we haven’t stopped listening.
Saint Motel got its start when members met on campus at an LA film school. Its love for visuals has continued to inspire the group throughout its music career. Stellar, striking music videos have accompanied each album.
The quartet instantly attracted the attention of the alternative community with the release of its debut album, Voyeur, in 2012. It hasn’t slowed down since. Saint Motel signed to the legendary rock record label Elektra Records in 2014, after the release of its sophomore album.
Two albums later, and we’ve arrived at The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. After a nearly five-year wait for new music from Saint Motel, expectations were high. But the 15-track album did not disappoint. It’s already getting great reviews from the indie community, and we’re expecting a high rank on the alternative charts.
To celebrate the release of the new record, we’re counting down our favorite tracks. Here are the five best songs from Saint Motel’s The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
#5: PREACH
We start our countdown with a single. “Preach” dropped in July 2020 and is one of our favorite early releases. It’s got a groovy retro sound and irresistibly sexy lyrics that might bring you to your knees, too.
#4: OLD SOUL
Next up is the album’s lead track. “Old Soul” makes us feel sweet and nostalgic, inspiring us to dream of a glamorous love that lasts through the years. With a sprinkle of modern rock added to the mix, Saint Motel creates the perfect timeless romantic track.
#3: DIANE MOZART
As the title seems to imply, “Diane Mozart” has a bit of orchestral flare. It’s a dramatic, cinematic delight, and that’s why it landed at number 3 on our The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack power ranking.
#2: A GOOD SONG NEVER DIES
Number two is “A Good Song Never Dies.” This song was an instant fan favorite and even appeared in a video game released last year. It’s an energetic song with the kind of superspy, James Bond vibe that makes for a killer addition to any road trip or workout playlist.
#1: VAN HORN
Finally, at the top of our list, we have “Van Horn.” It’s bold. It’s bopping. It’s the kind of three-minute song that you’ll have on repeat for days. It’s one of our favorite songs of the summer, and we know it’ll be yours, too.
