TAYLA PARX
From Songwriter to Solo Artist

Taylor Monet Parks, artistically known as Tayla Parx, is another face and voice you know, even if you don’t recognize her name.
She started her career in entertainment as an actress, guest starring in some of the TV shows you loved like Gilmore Girls, Everybody Hates Chris and Victorious. She made a few film appearances, including playing Little Inez Stubbs in the 2007 production of Hairspray.
Beginning in 2013, Parks started growing to prominence as a powerhouse songwriter in pop. The list of artists she’s been credited writing for includes: Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, Demi Lovato, BTS, and so many more of our chart-topping favorites.
In 2018, Parks was credited as a co-writer on three singles that reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100: Khalid and Normani’s “Love Lies”, Panic! At the Disco’s “High Hopes” and Grande’s iconic “thank u, next.”
Parks dropped a few non-album solo singles in 2015 and 2016 before she self-released her first solo mixtape in 2017 with Tayla Made, a 10-track collection of electropop goodness. After Tayla Made, Parks also released her most popular track to date. “Runaway” is a groovy R&B track featuring Khalid.
We Need To Talk, Parks’ first full-length album, came in April 2019 through the storied label Atlantic Records. The 15-track collection calls back to the electronic sounds of Tayla Made, but is a smoother, cooler mix with soft touches of R&B and pop. The single “I Want You” is a sweet and sassy tune about wanting it all.
Parks also ventured into country music last year with “Fight,” a collaboration with the duo Florida Georgia Line. She’s proved both in songwriting and performing she’s versatile enough to always keep us on our toes.
