SXSW has just been canceled due to the coronavirus outburst. Top musical performers, film and art were supposed to take center stage too. Great bands like Petrol Girls were on the concert roster. It’s a British feminist punk rock group with incredible songs like “Touch Me Again,” a powerful self-love ballad.

The stunning and unique Lydia Lunch is a singer, poet and speaker from the “no-wave” movement within New York’s underground punk scene of the late 70s-early 80s. She is playing for the first time at SXSW, with powerful tracks like “Death Valley ’69,” featuring Sonic Youth.

Nashville-based indie-singer/songwriter Soccer Mommy was set to play. Her haunting “yellow is the color of her eyes,” already has more than 280,000 views on YouTube. We’re excited for Soccer Mommy to bring her enchanting vocals to this year’s festival.

Nasty Cherry is an indie group of women with psychedelic sounds like the Australian group Tame Impala. The SXSW roster also included other indie voices like Katy Kirby, Sun June and The Deer. These folk artists all morph into rock via genre-blending. Another headliner was the famous group The Revivalists, an incredible American rock band. The group combines indie and folk and one of its hot cuts is “Texas Moon.”

Finally, we had the chance to look out for Norway’s Pom Poko and its eclectic, quirky, rock sound. Keep a lookout for these unique artists and many more which were supposed to be scheduled to be at SXSW in Austin, Texas, from March 13-22. The daring sounds, a worldwide array of performers and the festival are a yearly scene of intense creativity, which will be missed due to this year’s corona outbreak.
