KEEP CALM & SUMMER ON
5 Seconds of Summer's New Music

The adorable Australian pop rock group 5 Seconds of Summer took off in 2012 when they supported One Direction on its Take Me Home Tour. Since their dynamite start, they’ve released three studio albums and embarked on three world tours.
5SOS’s fourth album, Calm, is scheduled to drop March 27. So far, they’ve released two hot singles that show off the group’s collective talent for crafting pop hits. To gear up for their newest work, we’re listening to these five hit 5SOS songs:
“Easier”
The lead single for Calm came almost a full year ago, in May 2019. The track was co-written and produced by the four band members, along with several other industry leaders like Charlie Puth and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. It’s a powerful pop ballad that shows off lead singer Luke Hemmings’ vocal talents. At its peak, it reached number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“She Looks So Perfect”
5SOS’s first smash hit puts their pop punk roots on full display. It’s the perfect angsty love song for those of us who grew up listening to early 2000s emo hits. The instrumentals in “She Looks So Perfect” make it clear that these guys are musicians, and collectively are not just any boy band. The song is RIAA certified double platinum in the U.S.
“Good Girls”
This one is another hit single the group released prior to its self-titled debut album. It’s got just the right amount of suggestive lyrics to make it sexy while maintaining the boyish charm the group had in its early days. “Good Girls” peaked at number 34 on the Hot 100.
“Want You Back”
5SOS’s third album, Youngblood, revealed a new grown-up side of the band the world hadn’t seen much of yet. “Want You Back” was the lead single for the album, giving us the first taste of the new musically and lyrically mature group. It reached number 61 on the Hot 100.
“She’s Kinda Hot”
The sole major hit from 5SOS’s sophomore album Sounds Good Feels Good has the kind of carefree, rebel-without-a-cause tone that made the group so lovable in their early days. It’s fundamentally pop, but with just a hint of riotous rock melody and shouty vocals that makes us want to take some minor risks. “She’s Kinda Hot” peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 22.
