The Return of Panic!
After Broadway, Brendon Urie Is Back At It

In 2005, Panic! at the Disco released their debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out to critical and commercial success. Now 13 years later and four albums later, the Las Vegas-based band is putting out their latest Pray for the Wicked with only lead singer Brendon Urie as the band’s only original member and sole songwriter.
With a lot of anticipation for the new album, Panic! released the single “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” with a lot of fanfare and production behind it. The single’s music video, directed by Daniel “Cloud” Campos, features the band’s penchant for the dramatic and cinematic with an homage to serial killer horror movies from the 1980s and 90s. Watch as Urie disposes a team of hostel ninjas, only to get the tables turned on him!
Recently, Panic! at the Disco released the new single “High Hopes” that features Urie’s trademark falsetto-style of singing with a clean and witty exchange of wordplay and high production value. The single has a lot of summertime fun behind it with catchy hooks and danceable beats. It seems like it might be a welcome change for longtime fans that felt that Panic! was losing a step or two. Take a listen below.
If you weren’t aware, Panic! at the Disco took some time off for a year or so while Brendon Urie took to Broadway to star as the lead in the musical Kinky Boots. While he received a lot of acclaim, fans were anxious for the band to return to the recording studio and most importantly on the road for a nationwide tour.
“After being away in New York for months doing Kinky Boots, I just wanted to hang out at home when I got back to LA,” Brendon Urie told NME.com in 2017. “I was so revved up that I asked some friends to come over to my home studio to help me write about all the incredible things I’ve experienced the last couple of years… Pray For The Wicked is my ‘thank you’ to our fans and the most fun I’ve ever had making (an) album.”
Pray for the Wicked drops on June 22, while Panic! at the Disco announced a summer tour with support by A R I Z O N A and Hayley Kiyoko. For more info, visit their official website here.
