TIDAL TURNS US ON
Sexy Algorithms + Better Artist Relation$

When it’s time to get down and dirty, a solid sex playlist is the hottest way to put the magic in motion. If you don’t have a list ready when the mood strikes, don’t leave it up to Pandora to keep things steamy. Thanks to Jay-Z, Tidal has a super sexy algorithm, superior sound quality, and the ability to save playlists created just for you.
According to a study reported by the US National Library of Medicine in 2013, the right music does make things hotter in the bedroom. (Or wherever… we don’t judge at PROVOKR.) The results were consistent among all “genders, socioeconomic backgrounds, and age groups.” The rhythm, beat, and lyrics of a song impact arousal.

Tidal has a “My Mix” feature that personalizes music based on your specific listening habits and preferences. If you like the mix created for you, you can save it to your collection as a playlist, download it, and listen to it anytime on-demand. According to Tidal, the music selection includes “your latest favorites and tracks with similar vibes.” And the ‘vibe’ is precisely what Tidal got right. The last time I used Pandora to ‘get busy,’ One Week, by Bare Naked Ladies, came on. While the word ‘naked’ is in the band name, “chickity China Chinese chicken” doesn’t exactly fit the bill. In contrast, when using “My Mix,” I typed in one song, Nightlight, by Illenium, and Tidal created a super hot sex playlist worth saving and using again and again.
Don’t believe me? Check out the top ten songs on my Tidal curated list for yourself. I think track numbers 5 and 10 will become quick favorites!

If you don’t already have Tidal, subscription prices are comparable to Apple Music or Spotify Premium. Users pay $9.99 a month for Premium service and $14.99 for a Premium Family plan. That’s up to 5 additional accounts, and Tidal includes hot and timely editorial as well. It also has reduced rates for specific populations. Students pay only $4.99 per month, and the Military or First Responders pay $5.99 per month.

Tidal also provides the best artist compensation. For example, if you stream music on Spotify, the artist gets an average of .00437cents each time. YouTube is even lower, coming in at .00069 cents per stream. Tidal is consistent in its payments, which means there is no ‘average.’ All artists on Tidal receive .01284 per stream, nearly three times the payout on Spotify. Tidal is the only music streaming service looking out for artists– not labels– when it comes to payment. What’s sexier than representation like that? So if you are in the mood, let Tidal comb its 60 million tracks to create a sexy playlist for you and your partner.
