YOUNG THUG: PUNK
Music That Is Brave, Conscious & Authentic

Young Thug has officially confirmed the release date for upcoming studio album Punk. This highly anticipated project is the rapper’s second album.
After creating buzz during an NPR Tiny Desk performance earlier this year – Young Thug wore a t-shirt with the release date on it – he then posted on Instagram that Punk will be out October 15.
This will be the first new music we have heard from him since Slime Language 2, which dropped earlier this year.
In an interview with FADER earlier this year, Young Thug said, “It’s most definitely touching music. It’s music that the world is going to embrace. [Punk] means brave, not self-centered, conscious. Very, very neglected, very misunderstood. Very patient, very authentic.”
He continued, “I just want to open up. Let people know that I’m not just a rapper, I’m a human being. Let people know whatever they go through, I done been through or somebody done been through it. Those are the things that make people grow. People that want to commit suicide, you might give them another chance.”
Our only taste of the album so far has been the single “Tick Tock,” but the artist has teased a few other tracks, including “Die Slow,” “Hate The Game” and “Droppin’ Jewels.”
No word yet on what exactly we can expect from Punk, but after the feature-laden Slime Language 2, fans are predicting lots of verses from the rapper’s contemporaries. No matter what the album has in store for us, we’re excited to see how Young Thug has grown as an artist!
