The Art of Vivian Maier
A collection of the photographer's vital work

Vivian Maier did not live her life as a celebrated photographer. She spent most of her time eking out a living by being a nanny and secretly pursued her artistic inclinations in her spare time. In fact, it wasn’t until after Maier died in 2009 at age 83 that her visionary street photography—mostly taken in Chicago and New York City—started receiving the acclaim it richly deserved. If you’re not familiar with Maier’s work, this Instagram feed—created by a fan—will keep you enthralled for hours.
