The art of seduction

Harley Weir’s lush, saturated imagery has made her a fashion world sensation. Part punk rock, part Pre-Raphaelite, her work pulls the viewer in with an immediacy that’s always sensual and sometimes even startling. “To move someone or to make them think for just a split second is enough for me,” she’s said.

Discovered through her Tumblr, Weir’s singular aesthetic caught the eye of fashion’s taste-makers right away—today she is one of the industry’s most sought-after photographers. She’s shot for Céline, Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein and Gucci, to name a few. And her images have appeared on the covers of POP, Wallpaper*, i-D, and Vogue. And now Weir’s first solo exhibition, “Boundaries” can be seen at Amsterdam’s Foam Museum through February 19. The intimacy and authenticity of the Harley Weir style is very much a product of the social media age, and even as she continues to take the fashion world by storm, Weir shares her work freely on multiple social platforms. Enjoy a sampling of her captivating images, below.
