Landon Nordeman
Photography with a colorful flash of genius

When he’s on assignment trying to capture one-of-a-kind photos for magazines like Vogue, W, National Geographic, The New Yorker and New York, Landon Nordeman tries not to overthink things. “I love to work in a situation that is a controlled environment and try to shoot it in an uncontrolled way,” he tells PROVOKR. “Photography for me is about discovery—often your head can get in the way of that. If you can’t surprise yourself, then how do you expect to surprise anyone else? I try and remember that, then forget it, and then shoot.” Known for his focus on color and quirkiness, Nordeman describes his work as “looking for the eternal in the ephemeral.” Here is a dazzling selection of his work that demonstrates just how successful his quest has been.
Nordeman’s collection of behind-the-scenes photos of the fashion world will appear in his first book, Landon Nordeman: Out of Fashion, due out in September.
