Women Seeing Women
Brilliant female photography at Staley-Wise

Women Seeing Women is quite possibly the most interesting and enlightening show of the summer. The collection is presented by Staley-Wise and Magnum Photos. The curation showcases the work of twelve legendary female Magnum photographers and twelve women who are contemporary photographers working in fashion and commercial photography.
The images are all recording and interacting with women in a visual dialogue that is very telling and a sublime experience for the viewer. Photographers included Eve Arnold, Deborah Turberville, Sheila Metzner, and Ellen von Unwerth. There is a magical female thread running through the entire show and it’s best summed up by Georgia O’Keefe, who said,”I feel there is something unexplored about women that only women can explore.”
You can feel that very exploration going on and see a revealing side to the photographer and the subject which we believe is unique to women working with women.
