2 TO SEE IN 2020
Stephen King's The Outsider and TNT's Snowpiercer

We are already looking to 2020 to see all that it has to offer. The future looks bright, especially with two big adaptations coming our way. Read on to learn more about the TV versions of Snowpiercer and The Outsider.
SNOWPIERCER
Bong Joon Ho is having a moment right now with his latest film, Parasite, which is receiving nominations for major awards. But before Parasite there was Snowpiercer — and as a bonus, it stars Chris Evans.
The upcoming TNT series follows the same premise as the dystopian movie. When the effects of climate change render the world unlivable, the survivors are subjected to life on a train. The elite occupy the front of the train and the poor are relegated to the back. The train circles the world and with few attempts from its passengers to flee.
The series takes place before the movie. It’s likely that the show, starring Jennifer Connelly, will explain how earth froze and reveal more about the famous Frozen Seven. One thing is for sure: we will be tuning in.
THE OUTSIDER
We can’t have too many Stephen King adaptations. HBO picked up the rights to this supernatural drama that centers around Jason Bateman’s character, who is accused of murdering a child.
Ben Mendelsohn plays the lead detective, but he needs some additional help. That’s when Cyntia Erivo’s character steps in. (Erivo’s breakout performance is her recent portrayal of Harriet Tubman in the film, Harriet.) It seems she has an unusual skill set — helping others to see what they can’t. The series is all about what’s lurking in the shadows and we have high hopes for this adaptation.
