50 CENT Builds His Empire
BMF, His New Series with Snoop Dogg and Eminem+

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is again stepping into the executive producer role for the upcoming Starz series, BMF, short for Black Mafia Family.
The true story is about Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory forming Detroit’s Black Mafia Family drug and money laundering organization in 1989. BMF also entered the entertainment industry and became BMF Entertainment in 2000 “to launder money from cocaine sales and to legitimize itself.” After that, the group evolved into promoting hip-hop artists.

The star-studded cast includes Eminem(!!!) as White Boy Rick, Snoop Dogg(!!!!!!) as Pastor Swift, Russel Hornsby as Charles Flenory, Steve Harris as Detective Bryant, Demetrius Flenory Jr. as Demetrius Flenory, Da’Vinchi as Terry Flenory, Michole Briana White as Lucille, Ajiona Alexus as Kato, Eric Kofi-Abrefa as Lamar, Myles Truitt as B-Mickie, Kash Doll as Monique, Wood Harris as Pat, La La Anthony as Markaisha Taylor, Serayah as Lori Walker, and Markice Moore as Filmel. You cannot ask for a better, more legendary cast.

The show has been in 50 Cent’s (or, more formally, Curtis Jackson’s) line of sight since 2019. Luckily for all, Starz greenlit the series soon after. Since the trailer’s release, 50 Cent has said that this show will “outperform Power,” another one of 50 Cent’s productions and that it is an “organically bigger version of Power.” He also shared that he’s incredibly excited that Eminem will be portraying White Boy Rick or Rick Wershe Jr. For background on him, The Wrap provided a brief explanation: “Rick Wershe Jr., aka White Boy Rick, was an FBI informant in his early teens, when he sold drugs and guns as part of a Detroit gang. By 17, however, he was dumped by the feds and arrested for cocaine possession. Wershe was sentenced to life in prison, though he was eventually paroled and released in June 2020, at age 50.” He’s become popular in the hip-hop world ever since and even has a documentary on Netflix about him called “White Boy.”

The show premieres on Starz on September 26. We cannot wait to see 50 Cent’s recreation of the iconic crime family and how it got started. Check out the recently released trailer below!
