Australia has a ripe selection of crime dramas that will keep you captivated. From shows starring our favorite actors and actresses to the craziest storylines we’ve ever heard of, here are the best Australian crime dramas to watch:

DEEP WATER

This series takes place on the famous Bondi beach, where gay men end up dead on the beach. Detectives Nick and Tori find cold cases from the ’80s and ’90s. The four-part series will have you begging for more.

WENTWORTH

If you loved Orange Is The New Black, then Wentworth is for you. The stories of prisoners will have you wondering what happened. There are nine seasons of this prison show packed with excitement but not much comedy. It could be your new Orange Is The New Black.

MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES

If you’re looking for something easy to watch, look no further than Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Set in 1920s Australia, it solves crimes and looks great doing it. The show is on the lighter side and is still going strong seven years after its first season. Miss Fisher is a lot of fun to watch.

UNDERBELLY

Australia knows how to produce excellent anthologies. Each season tells a story about an underground Australian criminal. There are six, 13-episodes seasons, so you have enough binge-able material for a while.

If you love Elisabeth Moss as much as we do, then Top of the Lake should be at the top of your watchlist. When the body of a woman is found, preserved in an icy lake, local detectives work to uncover the story of the mysterious woman. It’s a thrilling series that will have you asking for more.
