Here’s What To Expect For Season 2 Of HBO's Hit
We’ve been so patient. Like, insanely patient. And the wait is over because Big Little Lies season two is less than three weeks away. HBO brought our favorite actresses together for a bigger-than-life hit drama. The official trailer finally dropped. The drama from the night of Perry (Alexander Skarsgard)’s death continues, and the women deal with the aftermath. Here’s what we can expect of the second season:
THE MONTEREY FIVE
It turns out our leading ladies have a nickname: The Monterey Five. Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shaliene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern) and Bonnie (Zöe Kravitz) are closer than ever following their criminal status. But their heinous acts are getting the best of them, especially Bonnie who pushed him down the stairs. The season is going to make or break a lot of relationships.
MERYL STREEP
The cast just got bigger. The 21-time Oscar nominee joins the star-studded cast as Perry’s mother. Streep sets out on a path of deciphering secrets and avenging her son’s death. “My son is dead, and I want answers,” she says to Celeste. “You were planning to leave him. And you learned of his infidelity just 10 seconds before he died. Oh, you left that out too.” Streep’s performance is bound to be chilling.

Merrin Dungey comes on as Detective Adrienne Quinlan, which suggests there’s more to learn about that night. The show really is an adult version of Pretty Little Liars at this point, and it’s amazing. With a detective in Monterey, there’s a great chance that someone else will end up dead.
