CHRIS EVANS NEW GIG
He Stars In AppleTV+'s Defending Jacob

If you’re missing Chris Evans and a Marvel Cinematic Universe marathon just isn’t cutting it, you’re in luck. His next role puts him in the fatherly lead of AppleTV+‘s series Defending Jacob.
A park murder is at the center of this drama based on the William Landay novel of the same name. Chris Evans stars as an assistant district attorney whose world blows up when his son, Jacob (played by It actor Jaeden Martell), is accused of murder. Andy comes to the defense of his son with his wife, Laurie (Michelle Dockery), by his side. The complex spider web of deceit has us intrigued and ready to binge. (Watch the full trailer above for the 8-part series to get the full scoop.)
Defending Jacob marks Chris Evans’ return to TV. If you didn’t know he had a recurring role on TV, I don’t blame you. He was in the 2000 series Opposite Sex, which ran for just one season.
It’s not Chris Evans’ and Jaeden Martell’s first project together. The two starred in Rian Johnson‘s murder mystery hit Knives Out. Evans played the arrogant, sweater-wearing grandson Ransom and Martell starred as the suspect white supremacist child, coincidentally named Jacob. Though the pair didn’t have many scenes together, we can only assume that they hit it off well enough to explore this venture together.
As Chris Evans maps out his post-Avengers career, we can only hope he’ll take more roles in limited series. PROVOKR wants to see more of you, Chris.
