CONTROL Z
A Dark Hacker Is Way Out Of Control

Netflix is serving up a hot new teen drama that will lead to obsession. Control Z combines the thrilling plots of shows like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars with Black Mirror-like technology. And any fans of the Spanish drama Elite will find this Mexican production equally sexy.
Control Z follows the lives of high school students who want to keep their secrets under lock and key. Unfortunately, a hacker at the school starts to expose everyone’s confidential information. The first victim on the list is the “It Girl.” During a school assembly, the students learn she is transgender. Her peers make a big deal out of the situation, but then the power shifts to her. She has an opportunity to divulge something about someone else. A chain reaction triggers, causing the whole school to erupt in chaos.
At the center of the narrative is an outcast, Sofia (Ana Valeria Becerril). She tries to figure out the hacker’s identity. Her intuition is spot on — which you get a feel for in the trailer above — and that might help her uncover the person behind the gossip mill. But unlike the action the series is named after, this hacker won’t be able to undo the damage.
The new title is just one of 14 Mexican productions premiering on Netflix in 2020. The streaming giant continues to bring global shows to American audiences and expand its international programming. The thrilling plot and captivating characters will have PROVOKR adding this series to our guilty pleasures list. Get ready to binge, PROVOKRs.
