ELIZABETH DEBICKI
Feeling Royal, She Takes On Princess Di

The Crown has found its Princess Diana for its final two seasons. Australian actress Elizabeth Debecki will assume the coveted role of the beloved princess who died in a car crash in Paris. The series also cast its final Prince Philip with Oscar-nominated actor Jonathan Pryce.
But let’s get back to Debicki, who said she’s a long-time fan: “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words, and actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” Debicki said.
The resemblance is undeniable. Debicki has the same long, elegant features Princess Di had. She also has short hair and piercing blue eyes. It’s 30-year old Debicki’s most prominent role to date.
Debicki landed her first significant role in 2013 as Jordan Baker in Baz Luhrman’s The Great Gatsby. Starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, Debicki managed to stand out. She has poise and carries herself with class and dignity. She’s a woman who isn’t afraid to tell it straight.
Following the glitz and glam of The Great Gatsby, she acted in Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the expedition film Everest before landing a role on the Australian crime series The Kettering Incident. But American audiences will be reunited with Debicki once more as she was one tapped to perform in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Despite ongoing delays to the film, Tenet is slated for a September 4 release date in select U.S. theaters. Debicki will play Kat. Her casting was announced at the same time as John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, so we can only assume she’s playing a starring role.
Debicki has other upcoming projects, including the third Guardians of the Galaxy film, as Ayesha. Then she’ll star alongside Ralph Fiennes in Richard Press’s period drama Farnsworth House. Though we don’t know much about these projects, we do know that Elizabeth Debicki will be a household name in no time.
