EMMY ROSSUM: IS GAME
She Transforms As LA Billboard Girl Angelyne

It’s no secret that actress Emmy Rossum is PROVOKR favorite. The 33-year-old dynamo has given us energetic performances for the last two decades — and she’s now fronting what’s going to be one of our favorites to date.
Rossum will portray Angelyne, a famous LA billboard girl who drove the streets of the City of Angels in a hot pink corvette. The Peacock series is based on a profile in The Hollywood Reporter. Rossum transforms herself for the role. Her hair is blonde and high, her breasts are, well, huge and her makeup reaches a whole other level. Even her voice takes on the nasally, high-pitched tone of Angelyne in an impressive performance. Rossum is also an executive producer, her first EP credit for a TV show.
It’s baffling that in her nine years on Showtime’s Shameless, Rossum didn’t have a producing credit. The actress led the series throughout with her sexy, empowering performance as Fiona Gallagher. Rossum left Shameless in pursuit of other roles, specifically in film.
And that’s where she got her start. Before TV, Rossum had three mainstream film roles, including Mystic River. She starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid in the apocalyptic The Day After Tomorrow. But Rossum is more well-known for her stunning performance as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera. The 2004 film based on the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical showed Rossum’s chops as a singer and actress.
That led to her music career. She released two albums but failed to reach superstar status on that front. The limited-series Angelyne brings her back to TV and a chance to compete on the awards circuit. There’s no doubt her portrayal will garner the attention of critics. We can’t wait to see Rossum as the blonde bombshell Angelyne.
