EUPHORIA’S TRIUMPHANT RETURN
Your Fave Show Is Back For Two Episodes

In 2019, HBO presented a parent’s worst nightmare with the premiere of the groundbreaking series, Euphoria. Zendaya produced the point of view shifting, trippy, mind drifting creation of Sam Levinson. The show takes a deep dive into teenage drug use, drug dealing, and depression. The family relationships are raw and strained, and interpersonal relationships–both romantic and platonic–are complicated and real. The show explores gender and sexual identity, grief, assault, teen pregnancy, and more. Think Dawson’s Creek on steroids—or rather Fentanyl.

The series grabbed 5.5 million viewers within months of the premiere. In July 2019, shortly after an announcement was made that the show would be renewed, Francesca Orsi of HBO said, “Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya.” She added, “we look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.” Zendaya retweeted the renewal in an emotional announcement on July 11th, saying, “literally just got the call. Can’t say thank you enough for the support we’ve seen, wow…”

Despite eager fans and an emotional crew, a year has gone by since that announcement, and few details are known about the second season. The global pandemic and natural disasters have delayed production, but we do know Zendaya had a virtual interview with MJ Rodriguez about Euphoria and the effect it has had on the show.
While fans are in the dark about the full season’s release date, HBO has announced that two special episodes will air in December. Look out for the first of those two shows on December 6. There haven’t been any hints as to what we can expect. But photos from a table read in March suggest that Zendaya’s character Rue is alive and will be a part of the second season.
