EVAN PETERS
Character Actor Gone Wild: WandaVision to AHS

One knock on a door in Disney+’s WandaVision changed everything. When Elizabeth Olsen’s character, Wanda Maximoff, opened the door, behind it was Evan Peters’ Quicksilver aka Pietro Maximoff. He is the only member of the Fox X-Men series and the MCU (though they were played by two different people.)
Not only did this open up so many opportunities for the Marvel CInematic Universe, but it also brought Peters into the fold. WandaVision even broke into the top 10 on the Nielsen ratings for streaming. Fans of Peters probably didn’t expect to see him on the hit series, but they definitely weren’t disappointed.
The MCU extension universe isn’t the only world Peters is a part of — he’s also in Ryan Murphy’s inner circle. Ever since his breakthrough role as Tate Langdon in American Horror Story: Murder House, Peters has taken on crazy, screaming characters. But after playing Charles Manson in American Horror Story: Cult, he tried to distance himself from the insane roles.
“I know, and it’s been all a massive stretch for me and really difficult to do. It’s hurting my soul and Evan as a person,” he told GQ in 2018. “There’s this massive amount of rage that’s been called upon from me, and the emotional stuff that’s been called on me for Pose has been heartbreaking, and I’m sick. I don’t feel good.”
Since then, his characters have shown a vulnerable side of Peters, including Stan Bowers in Pose. Peters is still firmly in the AHS (and Ryan Murphy) family, but he’s also venturing out. He has continued to reprise his role as Quicksilver, and he’s going to be in the upcoming HBO series Mare of Easttown with Kate Winslet, which is definitely a more grounded series.
Peters is a character actor through and through, which is one of the many reasons we love him. We are excited for Peters with this new path toward displaying his many talents. We will be watching.
